For pediatric practices: one sign on the front desk

A parent at the two-month visit is weeks from a baby who starts to roll, and is already thinking about the house.

The short version

  • Goosery is an iPhone app that gives your families a room-by-room list of hazards and fixes.
  • You put one sign with its own QR code on your front desk and sign a one-page letter. No patient information or money changes hands.
  • The sign goes out when Goosery opens on the App Store. Each quarter you get a short note with the number of installs from your code.

Goosery is an iPhone app for expecting and new parents. A parent photographs each room and gets a list of hazards and fixes, with what to do first at the top. The plan keeps up as their baby rolls, crawls, pulls up and walks.

Goosery writes its standards from guidance published by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the American Academy of Pediatrics and ASTM International, which publishes product standards. Every standard behind the plan is reviewed and signed by a practicing pediatrician. The app gives no score or grade, and it never certifies a car seat installation. Anything a photo can’t answer goes on a separate list the parent checks by hand. A crib check is free, and so is one scan of every room. The full plan is a one-time fee.

What we ask

We ask for one permanent sign, with your practice’s own QR code, on the front desk. We mail it, and someone sets it by the check-in window. Your staff have nothing to hand out, restock or log into. If a parent asks, “an app for getting a home ready for a baby” is a complete answer.

What you sign, and what you get back

You sign a one-page placement letter. It sets out what the sign says, that nobody is paid, and that the sign can come down at any time. It also asks your consent to list you as a participating practice. That listing says only that you have the sign. Nothing on the sign, in the app or on this site says a practice reviewed or endorses Goosery.

You get the sign, free, and a short note each quarter with the number of installs from your code. You also get something to point to when a parent asks how to get the house ready.

What never changes hands

No patient data moves in either direction. You send us nothing, and we send you nothing about any patient. The quarterly note gives the number of installs from your code, and that number is not patient data.

No money changes hands. You pay nothing for the sign, and you get no display fee, referral payment or share of revenue.

When the signs go out

No sign goes out until Goosery is on the App Store, so anyone who scans the code can install the app. You can sign the letter now: write to info@getgoosery.com and we’ll send it. The sign arrives when Goosery opens.

A placement takes four steps: the practice signs the letter, Goosery opens on the App Store, the sign goes on the front desk, and a note with the install count arrives each quarter1The practice signs the one-pageplacement letter2Goosery opens on the App Store3We mail the sign, and it goes onthe front desk4Each quarter, we send a short notewith the number of installs from the code
